Islip, N.Y. – The Queens College baseball team got into the holiday spirit by donating its time to help out at the St. Jude National Give Thanks Walk, held on November 22 at Bethpage Ballpark in Islip, New York.
For the second straight year, the team helped organizers set up for the event. They moved and setup furniture, boundary lines, cones and other items needed for the charity walk. Additionally, they helped register the participants upon their arrival.
As an extra gesture, the team raised and donated over $1000 for families with children afflicted with cancer.
The fun, family event was held in over 65 communities across the country. The Walk had all the monies raised go to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which provides children with cancer access to free care.
